Here are a few suggestions for filling a punch bowl when you are entertaining a crowd:

Party Punch

1 part vodka

1 part Sauterne

1 part club soda

1 part white grape juice (uncarbonated is good in this punch)

CARDINAL PUNCH    (an excellent non-alcoholic punch)

1 quart cranberry juice

1 pint orange juice

2 lemons squeezed -or- 2 ozs. lemon juice

4 quarts ginger ale

Combine juices with ice and chill. Pour into a punch bowl over a block of ice. Add ginger ale.

Garnish with a sprig of mint.

Serves 44 in punch cups.

We have served the party punch often, especially for gatherings over holidays in Andover. The non-alcohol, cardinal punch has been a big success at Seasons' gatherings in Vermont, following the annual meetings. To print the recipe for Cardinal Punch alone, double click here on non-alcoholic punch. In addition to these recipes, other good choices, depending on the season are posted elsewhere on this site, double click here to see a family recipe for Egg Nog and here for a collection of Sangria recipes, which can be expanded to serve a crowd.
