A seventies-style recipe which relies on Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom soup and a Lipton dry soup mix is:

KATHY SIMMONS’ POT ROAST

3 - 4 pounds chuck/pot roast (California roast is good)
1 can cream of mushroom soup½ can water
1 package Lipton dry onion-soup mix
Bouquet garni  

Put all together in pot.
Sprinkle with bouquet garni.

Bring to simmer and cook about 2 hours (until tender) on top of stove or in a moderate oven, 325°F. to 350° F.
