2 cups flour 4 cups diced raw apples
2 cups white sugar peeled
2 teaspoons baking soda ½ cup chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon cinnamon ½ cup butter, melted
½ teaspoon nutmeg 2 eggs
½ teaspoon salt Confectioner's sugar
1. Preheat oven to 325° F.
2. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
3. In a large bowl, sift flour, sugar, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and sift together. Add apple, nuts, butter, and slightly beaten eggs. This will be a thick mixture. Mix it all well.
4. Bake 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes (until cake springs back at the touch) Cool slightly and sprinkle with confectioner's sugar, if desired.
5. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
