CAT CRACKERS (for
Blackie, NOT for Snowball)
• 6 ounce canned tuna in oil (don't drain)
• 1 cup cornmeal
• 1 cup flour
• 1/3 cup water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Measure all ingredients into a large bowl. Mix
thoroughly with your hands. Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured surface.
Cut into small pieces. Place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 20 minutes,
until just golden. Let cool. Store in refrigerator for one week.
An anonymous reader sent in the following kitty treat recipe.
KITTY TREATS
• 1 cup flour
• 1 cup wheat flour
• 1/2 cup wheat germ
• 1/2 cup powdered milk
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 6 tablespoons margarine or lard/bacon fat
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon brown sugar
• 1/2 cup water or tuna oil
Mix together all ingredients. Roll the dough flat and chop into size squares of
your choice. Bake on greased sheets at 325 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes, depends
on how hard you want it to be. Turn half way at bake time. Makes a couple pounds
of food.
